Description

A fine collection of three original mid-20th-century lithographs by celebrated maritime artist Gordon Grant. This grouping includes two copies of a tranquil harbor scene featuring a weathered fishing shack, beached dories, and a distant schooner under a dramatic, clouded sky. The third piece depicts a bustling harbor with several sailing vessels, including a prominent two-masted schooner with sails partially unfurled.

Each work showcases Grant’s technical mastery of the lithographic medium, utilizing rich tonal contrasts and fine line work to capture the atmosphere of the New England coast. These prints are characteristic of Grant’s work for the Associated American Artists (AAA), which sought to bring fine art to the American public.
