A cylindrical Chinese porcelain jar hand-painted in vibrant polychrome enamels with a dynamic scene of tigers in various active poses. The white-ground porcelain body is detailed with black calligraphic inscriptions and multiple stamped red seal marks. The vessel features heavy, decorative brass or bronze-toned metal mounts at the rim and base, cast with repeating ruyi-cloud and scroll motifs. It is fitted with a matching metal shoulder and an overhead swing handle attached to bat-shaped mounts. The removable dome-shaped brass lid is topped with a bud finial, secured by a fine chain link, and features an unlined bottom with ventilation holes. The underside of the porcelain base bears a red four-character seal mark.
