Mixed media geometric composition by Leigh Sheridan (b. 1958), featuring an intricate arrangement of overlapping squares and diamond forms in muted shades of blue-gray, sage green, cream, and terracotta. The layered paper assemblage explores geometric proportion, symmetry, mathematical harmony, and repetition. Presented under a blue-green mat with gilt accents in a gold-tone frame.
The biographical label verso identifies Sheridan as born in Frankfurt, Germany in 1958, raised in Philadelphia, and later based in Seattle. It states that she studied painting and sculpture at Rhode Island School of Design and Temple University in Philadelphia, and describes her work as influenced by Pythagorean and Platonic concepts of geometric proportion and symmetry.
