A classic and intellectually engaging cast reproduction of Hugo Rheinhold's famous 1893 philosophical sculpture, Affe mit Schädel (Ape with Skull), often referred to as the "Darwin Monkey." The piece depicts a pensive chimpanzee sitting atop a pile of books—with one spine prominently inscribed "DARWIN"—holding and contemplating a human skull in its hand. This satirical and thought-provoking work captures the late 19th-century debates surrounding Charles Darwin's theory of evolution, finished in a rich, dark bronze patina with realistic textures.
