This 2023 large-scale oil painting, is a primary work by the internationally acclaimed Cuban artist Alexis Leyva Machado, known as Kcho. The composition features a central boat—the artist's most iconic and recurring motif—rendered with thick, expressive strokes in a monochromatic palette of blacks, greys, and whites. The vessel is packed with stylized human figures, a powerful symbol of migration, memory, and the collective Cuban experience. The dynamic background includes large propeller-like forms and sweeping celestial swirls, adding a sense of movement and surreal energy to the monumental piece. The work is signed and dated "Kcho 2023" in the lower left corner.
The piece is accompanied by the original Certificado de Autenticidad from Kcho Estudio, signed by the artist and dated December 10, 2024. The document includes the artist's thumbprint and the official studio embossed seal.
