This monumental porcelain charger features a richly detailed central medallion depicting an animated theatrical martial arts or court stage performance. Multiple figures in elaborate traditional robes are shown on a distinctive red and white checkerboard tiled stage, with central characters engaging in a sword duel beneath a calligraphic banner and draped theatrical curtains. The scene is bordered by a complex, dense field of the Famille Rose (specifically Rose Canton style) palette, meticulously hand-painted with an abundance of pink peonies, green foliage, stylized fish, scrolling tendrils, and auspicious symbols. The reverse remains unglazed at the foot ring and shows delicate floral sprays along the exterior rim. The piece includes a heavy, custom-carved dark hardwood display stand with a vertical back support.
