Group of vintage AP Newsfeatures “Picture Show” press photo feature sheets, each consisting of black-and-white images with accompanying editorial text. These were produced for newspaper and media use, not commercial posters, and were intended for publication layouts.
One sheet titled “A One-Ring Classic” features Big Apple Circus performers, including acrobats, animal acts, and audience scenes. Another sheet titled “Getting Organized” documents the installation and mechanics of the pipe organ at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall. The third sheet, “Fisher’s Finished Symphony,” shows the reconstruction of Avery Fisher Hall and the reopening of the New York Philharmonic venue.
Each sheet is printed on both sides with different photo layouts and captions, typical of AP Newsfeatures syndication material. One example includes a handwritten inscription dated December 15, 1986.
Approximate dimensions: 23 x 18 inches and 24 x 17 inches (vary slightly by sheet)
