A striking 19th century French Empire style inkwell executed in bronze, featuring a dramatic sculptural composition surmounted by an eagle with outstretched wings. The central figure rises from a naturalistic base, conveying strength and movement, a hallmark of the Empire aesthetic.

The inkwell is designed with an organic, asymmetrical base, incorporating flowing forms and detailed surface work. Flanking the composition are integrated ink compartments, seamlessly incorporated into the design and adorned with sculptural detailing. The overall surface displays a rich metallic tone, highlighting the craftsmanship and depth of the casting.

The piece is signed “A. Marionnet,” adding artistic attribution and collectible significance. The sculptural quality of the eagle and base, combined with the functional elements of the inkwell, reflect the fusion of art and utility characteristic of 19th century French decorative objects.

This inkwell serves as both a functional writing accessory and a decorative sculpture, ideal for display on a desk or as part of a curated collection of fine bronze works.
