Offered for sale as an original Brazilian ritualistic feather Indigenous headdress, known in Portugese as "cocar" from the Kayapó tribe in Northern Brazil and the Amazon. These are cruelty free as headdresses are only crafted from fallen bird feathers. The Kayapo call themselves Mẽbêngôkre, a name that can be translated as "People of the Water Hole." The Kayapo are an Indigenous group living in the Brazilian States of Mato Grosso and Pará. An estimated 12,000 Kayapo live amongst approximately 50 villages across more than 9 million hectares on five federally demarcated Indigenous lands.

Headdresses in the Kayapó tribe are only worn by tribe leaders, so they are a rare craft. This item was professionally framed and mounted on a black fabric background, in a black thick shadow box frame under glass.
