Large Chinese-made Satsuma ewer featuring a bulbous ceramic body richly decorated with detailed figural scenes depicting numerous figures within traditional landscape and architectural settings. Extensive polychrome enameling and gilt decoration cover the vessel, accented by elaborate geometric and floral borders. Fitted with a removable domed cover with openwork finial, twin elongated gilt spouts or handles, and raised on four gilt feet. The underside retains a red label reading "Made in China / Satsuma."
