Decorative Chinese six-panel folding floor screen finished in black lacquer and richly embellished with carved hardstone and soapstone inlay. The front of each panel depicts elegant court ladies, attendants, scholars, pavilions, bridges, cranes, and garden landscapes in high-relief against a black lacquer ground with gilt accents. The reverse is decorated with flowering branches and birds in complementary hardstone inlay, allowing the screen to be displayed from either side. Hinged construction enables flexible positioning as a room divider or decorative accent, showcasing the craftsmanship associated with traditional Chinese export furniture.
