Iron socket bayonet with triangular blade and accompanying metal scabbard. The bayonet features a locking ring and mortise slot designed for mounting to a muzzle-loading rifle, consistent with military bayonets used during the American Civil War period. The blade bears a visible "125" marking. Offered together with its associated scabbard. A desirable military collectible and display piece.
Dimensions: Blade 20 in.; overall length 25 in.
Condition Report: Heavy age-related wear throughout. Blade exhibits oxidation, pitting, discoloration, and areas of corrosion. Scabbard shows significant rust, surface deterioration, and wear consistent with long-term storage. Marking "125" visible on blade. No attempt has been made to clean or restore the piece. Sold as found.
