David Fisher’s Sophisticated Lady is a striking limited edition embossed paper bas-relief depicting an elegantly dressed woman in profile wearing a dramatic wide-brimmed hat that partially obscures her face. Executed entirely in white handmade paper, the composition relies on sculptural relief, texture, and shadow to create remarkable depth. The figure is adorned with layered pearl necklaces against a richly textured background, conveying timeless sophistication and Art Deco-inspired elegance. Pencil signed by the artist and numbered 246/1000, the work features naturally deckled edges and an embossed paper mill watermark, making it an exceptional example of contemporary paper relief art.
