Nostalgic scene of a small girl in a straw hat holding a broom, with a brown dog at her feet and a young boy seated on the porch behind her, typical of Dengel’s warm country-child portraits.
Dianne Dengel (1939–2012) was an American artist from Rochester, New York, known for her heartwarming and nostalgic paintings of everyday life. She began painting at a young age, often using her fingers instead of brushes. Her work often featured children, families, and humorous small-town scenes filled with emotion and charm. Dengel’s art was widely collected, and she also appeared on Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood in 1985. Her paintings continue to be admired for their warmth, detail, and storytelling quality.
