This 1998 mixed media work by Haitian artist Ernest P. Apollon features a stylized, elongated female figure suspended within an atmospheric, multi-layered composition. The central subject is rendered with a ghostly, ethereal quality, draped in a teal tunic. Her disproportionately long legs fade into the misty blue center, creating a sense of weightlessness.
The background consists of a sophisticated arrangement of layered color blocks in shades of cerulean, lemon yellow, violet, and soft pink. The artist utilizes visible brushwork and textural layering to create depth, signature elements of his unique aesthetic. Signed and dated "epa 98" in the lower right, the piece reflects a modern, folk-influenced approach to figurative abstraction.
