Description

This lot features a pair of fine bone china collector plates from the House of Erté, produced in 1985 in collaboration with Mikasa. The set showcases two of the artist's most celebrated Art Deco fashion illustrations, characterized by bold, graphic compositions and elegant gilded accents.

• "Flames d'Amour": This plate depicts a central female figure with arms outstretched, wearing a dramatic billowing black dress that transitions into a vibrant red flame skirt. The central image is framed by a stylized animal print border set against a wide black verge with a gold-trimmed rim.

• "Le Soleil" (The Sun): A stunning representation of Erté’s 1921 costume design originally created for Harper’s Bazaar. The figure is dressed in a flowing red gown and wears an iconic, large sunburst headdress with golden highlights.

Both plates are marked on the reverse with the stylized Erté signature, the title of the work, and the production year.
