Description
An exquisite example of French Art Nouveau cameo glass, this vase was produced by the renowned Verrerie de Saint-Denis glassworks, founded by François-Théodore Legras.
The bulbous form vase features a mottled, frosted green ground. It is beautifully decorated with an acid-etched and enameled design of large leaves and berries (possibly mistletoe), highlighted with gold gilt accents. The signature "Legras" is visible in cameo within the design on the lower body of the vase. This piece is circa 1900 and displays the naturalistic motifs characteristic of the Art Nouveau period.
Condition Report: Overall good condition. Light surface wear consistent with age and display. No major cracks or chips observed.
