Expressive mixed media drawing attributed to Alberto Giacometti, featuring a dynamic composition of loosely rendered interior and still-life studies. Executed with energetic, layered lines and cross-hatching, the work demonstrates the spontaneous sketching style and exploratory mark-making often associated with Giacometti’s drawings. The composition appears to combine interior architectural elements with still-life objects and figurative suggestions, rendered in a fluid and gestural manner.
Giacometti was one of the most influential sculptors and draftsmen of the 20th century, closely associated with the Surrealist movement and later celebrated for his existentialist figures and distinctive linear drawing style. His works often explore space, perception, and the human presence through sparse but powerful lines.
The drawing is presented under mat and housed in a decorative frame. A label on the reverse identifies the work as “Alberto Giacometti – Mixed Media.”
Overall framed dimensions: 17 x 14 inches
Condition: Light age-related wear to frame and mat consistent with display; artwork appears in good overall condition.
