An vintage Italian Florentine-style decorative jewelry or keepsake box. The wooden box is finished in classic gold gilt and features a shaped, serpentine silhouette. The hinged lid is adorned with a decoupaged paper print depicting a grand, classical ballroom scene filled with elegant figures socializing under towering crystal chandeliers. The outer sides of the box are painted with classical acanthus scrollwork in a cream tone over a contrasting dark brown ground, and the interior is lined in plush black velvet.
