The piece is executed in glazed earthenware with a crackle (crazed) glaze finish typical of traditional majolica. A metal gnomon extends from the center, designed to cast a shadow across the dial. The sculptural lemons and leaves add depth and visual interest, making this both a functional and decorative wall element.

Signed “Ceccarelli” along the rim, indicating Italian origin. The reverse shows the terracotta body and mounting structure.
