Vintage pair of Japanese Satsuma-style porcelain pillow vases featuring colorful hand-painted scenes of peacocks and flowering trees. Each flattened, rounded-form vase is decorated with an individual composition incorporating peacocks, blossoming branches, chrysanthemums, and other floral elements in a traditional Japanese aesthetic. Raised moriage-style detailing adds texture and dimension to portions of the decoration. Finished in a warm cream-colored glaze and offered together as a decorative pair.
