Large Japanese Satsuma earthenware vase of bulbous form with a short flared neck, extensively decorated with a continuous figural landscape scene. The composition depicts numerous figures amid traditional architecture, trees, mountains, and garden settings, rendered in polychrome enamels with gilt detailing. Dense floral decoration surrounds the shoulder and neck. The underside bears a red seal-form character mark. Presented on a carved wood stand.
