A rare and highly collectible authorized Fabergé Imperial presentation egg titled "Petite Peter the Great," released in 2003 to commemorate the tricentennial of the founding of St. Petersburg (1703–2003). Expertly crafted in Limoges, France by Raynaud, this porcelain egg features a heavy matte and polished gilt exterior finish. The shell is deeply embossed with the celebratory years "2003" and "1703", alongside the script name "Petite Peter the Great" across the front surface.
The bottom perimeter is encircled by the inscription "Saint Petersburg", surrounding the official maker’s marks, including "Fabergé Fait Main Limoges France" and the handwritten signature of Tatiana Fabergé, granddaughter of Carl Fabergé. The hinged egg opens to reveal a polished gilt interior containing a detailed miniature dimensional surprise of the famous "Bronze Horseman" equestrian statue of Peter the Great.
This lot is entirely self-contained and complete with its original textured navy blue leatherette presentation box, featuring a gilt-stamped Russian double-headed imperial eagle and the Fabergé logotype, alongside its numbered Official Certificate of Authenticity and Warranty card signed by Fabergé Workmaster Jean-Marie Reynaud and President Michael J. Ruddy.
Porcelain & Gilding: Excellent vintage condition. The heavy gold-plated exterior surface shows minimal handling wear. Hinge mechanism is tight, aligns perfectly, and snaps shut securely. Interior elements and miniature bronze statue remain pristine.
Presentation Box: Very good structural condition with only minor shelf wear to the base and exterior corners. Interior fabric lining is exceptionally clean and free of staining.
Documentation: Both the Certificate of Authenticity and the matching warranty enclosure remain crisp with clean ink signatures.
