This tripod covered urn is designed in the Fragonard "Limoges" style, featuring a deep cobalt blue ground with elaborate gilt scrollwork and a central transfer-printed medallion. The medallion depicts a classical courting scene of a couple with a lyre, reminiscent of 18th-century French romanticism. The vessel is raised on three gilded scroll feet and features a matching domed lid with a gold-tone finial. Despite the markings on the underside, the "P.R.C." designation indicates modern manufacture in the People's Republic of China.
