This 1974 work is a centerpiece from Dalí's "La Conquête du Cosmos" (The Conquest of the Cosmos) suite, published by Jean Lavigne, Paris. The composition is a masterful example of Dalí's later graphic works, blending traditional drypoint etching with vibrant color lithography and tactile embossing on Arches vellum. The imagery reflects the artist's obsession with the intersection of mythology and atomic-age science, featuring the laser-bearing unicorn—a symbol of purity and precision—confronting the "cosmic" rhinoceros. This impression is hand-signed in pencil by the artist in the lower right margin and numbered 146/195 in the lower left. The plate also includes the artist's printed monogram and the 1974 date. It is housed in a gold-finish frame with a linen mat.
