Collection of memorabilia relating to legendary heavyweight boxing champions Max Schmeling and Joe Louis. The group includes the German-language biography Ein Leben auf eigene Faust by Carl Otto Hamann, a signed printed thank-you card from Schmeling dated October 2001 with its original mailing envelope, a handwritten congratulatory letter addressed to Schmeling on the occasion of his 96th birthday, and a black-and-white photographic portrait of Joe Louis in his boxing gloves.
