Guy Cambier (1923-2008) was a self-taught Belgian-born painter who focused on art after a childhood accident. He studied the styles of masters such as Corot and Watteau and began exhibiting in 1942, winning "Le Prix de la Jeune Peinture" in Paris in 1957. Cambier became a sought-after portrait artist after moving to the South of France in the 1950s, painting figures like Princess Grace of Monaco and Winston Churchill.
