Description
A large and stunning center table in the Empire or Neoclassical style, likely dating from the 19th or 20th century. This piece features a striking circular top and a conforming lower tier, both covered in a vibrant, quarter-veneered malachite with natural, banded patterns.
The tabletop is supported by an ornate gilt bronze (ormolu) and patinated base, which includes four robust supports sculpted as winged lion monopodia, a classic motif of the era. These legs rise from a shaped base accented with cast foliate designs and terminating in paw feet.
