A vintage Italian-made figurine depicting a Chinese sage or immortal figure in traditional flowing robes. The figure is intricately detailed, holding a cluster of chickens or fowl in his hands. The sculpture is crafted from a combination of silvered pewter (peltro) for the garment and metallic accents, with a faux-ivory resin used for the head and hands to mimic traditional oriental okimono carvings. The piece stands on a circular dark-toned base, typical of mid-century Italian decorative imports. Marked "Peltro Italy" on the lower reverse or base.
