An impressive pair of large Neoclassical-style urns featuring glossy cobalt blue porcelain bodies extensively mounted with gilt bronze decoration. Each urn is flanked by classical female caryatid figures with outstretched arms, joined by scrolling supports and rosette medallions. Ornate pierced gilt bronze galleries encircle the bodies beneath beaded borders, while broad flared rims are finished with repeating classical ornament.

Raised on pedestal stems terminating in substantial shaped gilt bronze bases decorated with acanthus leaves and architectural molding. The dramatic combination of black porcelain and gilt bronze, together with the classical figural mounts, gives the pair a strong Empire and French Neoclassical-inspired appearance.

Dimensions: Each 24 in. H x 14 in. W x 9 in. D.
