This 2003 work by the renowned Cuban artist José Fuster (born 1946) is a vibrant celebration of Caribbean life and landscape. The composition focuses on stylized palm trees (palmeras), rendered in the artist's signature Post-Cubist and "naïve" style. Fuster’s work is characterized by its whimsical energy, heavy black outlines, and a joyous, sun-drenched palette. As a leading figure in the Cuban art scene, Fuster is famous for his "Fusterlandia" project, which transformed an entire Havana neighborhood into a mosaic masterpiece. This painting, signed and dated "Fuster 03" (occasionally appearing as "Fuste"), is a significant example of his collectible studio works from the early 2000s.
