This dynamic work, titled Peces (Fish), is by the noted Cuban artist José Antonio Montebravo. Dated 2002, the composition features four stylized fish rendered with intricate patterns and textures, set against a geometric, multi-tonal blue background. Montebravo’s style in this piece reflects his mastery of "collography" or mixed media printmaking, where he often combined drawing and painting over printed bases to create rich, tactile surfaces. The vertical division in the center and the mosaic-like background are signature elements of his late-period work, which often explored themes of nature, mythology, and Cuban identity. This large-format piece is signed, titled, and dated by the artist in the lower margin.
