Hand-coiled ceramic vessel from the Gran Cocle culture of Panama. The rounded body features a slightly inverted rim decorated with a polychrome slip. The exterior is divided into registers, showcasing a central band of stylized zoomorphic figures rendered in black outlines with red and orange ochre fills. Figures are separated by vertical geometric bars, with a repeating step-fret pattern encircling the rim. The interior and base show evidence of traditional pit-firing, including fire clouds. One large fragment is detached but present.
