An extraordinary piece of sports and tobacco ephemera, this vintage promotional panel features a bold, vintage fountain pen autograph from baseball legend Babe Ruth.
The piece showcases the iconic illustrated advertisement for "Between the Acts" Little Cigars, reading: "When time's too short for a Big CIGAR, Smoke BETWEEN THE ACTS Little Cigars." It lists a retail price of "10 for 15¢" and attributes the printing to Harry M. Stevens, Inc., Publisher, located at 320 Fifth Ave, N.Y. Harry M. Stevens was the legendary concessions mogul known as the "Father of the Ballpark Hot Dog," making this a phenomenal crossover piece tying together early baseball culture, New York stadium history, and the Sultan of Swat himself. The signature of Babe Ruth is located cleanly across the center-left portion of the advertisement.
