Vintage Pennsylvania Railroad grouping comprising a metal railroad padlock with attached chain, three brass keys, and an oval brass identification or baggage tag. The tag is prominently marked “PENNSYLVANIA” with the Pennsylvania Railroad keystone emblem and numbered “75413.” Railroad baggage check tags were historically used to identify and track passengers’ checked baggage.

The lock has a hinged keyhole cover and visible stamped markings to the body. Period Pennsylvania Railroad locks are known in both brass and steel configurations and were supplied by manufacturers including Fraim and Slaymaker. The exact maker and intended application of this particular lock have not been confirmed from the photographs.
