Description: Striking oil-on-canvas portrait signed STOWITTS, depicting the Queen of the Susuhunan of Surakarta Java, historically regarded as one of the most beautiful women in Java (Indonesia). Painted with the rich detail, gold-toned palette, and ethnographic sensitivity characteristic of Hubert Julian Stowitts, known for his depictions of global royalty, dancers, and cultural figures during the early 20th century.

The reverse bears an original typed label identifying the sitter and royal title, enhancing provenance and significance. Presented in a period wooden frame with stepped molding. Painting shows excellent color retention; frame displays expected age wear.
