Original oil on canvas painting titled Rock the Boat by contemporary German artist Alfred “Alex” Gockel, executed in 2016. The composition features the artist’s signature abstract figurative style, incorporating stylized musicians and geometric forms rendered in bold curvilinear lines and vibrant blocks of color. A violin motif appears prominently within the composition, surrounded by energetic modernist forms in red, yellow, blue, purple, and black.

 

Signed lower right and accompanied by a Baterbys certificate of authenticity identifying the work as an original oil on canvas unique work by the artist. Presented in an elegant molded wood frame with linen liner.

 

Alex Gockel is internationally recognized for his colorful contemporary compositions blending abstraction, music, and figurative imagery influenced by Picasso, Matisse, and modern Cubism. His works are widely collected for their decorative appeal and strong contemporary presence.
