Description
This striking mixed media work on canvas by the renowned contemporary Cuban artist Kcho (Alexis Leyva Machado) features his iconic nautical and migratory iconography. The composition depicts a multi-tiered vessel resembling a stack of boats or a nautical structure, rendered in bold black outlines against a vibrant turquoise background. A group of gestural figures is clustered to the right of the vessel, while a central figure appears to be lifting or supporting the structure from below. The work exemplifies Kcho's preoccupation with themes of island identity, the sea, and the physical and emotional journeys of the Cuban people. The piece is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity from Kcho Estudio, signed and fingerprinted by the artist.
