The composition features two silhouetted masted vessels at center, anchored amidst a "sea" of moody slate-gray and charcoal tones. Ohaly’s signature heavy impasto technique is on full display here; he uses a palette knife to create thick, sculptural ridges of paint. This texture is most vibrant in the center, where a core of cadmium yellow and fiery orange creates a brilliant "glow" reflecting across the harbor.
