This 1997 monumental ceramic mural, titled "Sol, pez y mariposa", is a quintessential example of the whimsical, horror vacui style of National Prize winner Alfredo Sosabravo. Composed of 12 individual glazed tiles (lozas), the work features a vibrant, multi-colored assemblage of the artist’s most iconic motifs: a central sun with saw-tooth rays, a stylized fish, and a mechanical, geometric butterfly. The piece is rendered in high-gloss enamels with bold black outlines against a mottled cream-colored ground, characteristic of Sosabravo’s playful and technically complex ceramic output. The mural is hand-signed and dated "SOSABRAVO-97" in the lower right corner.

The work is accompanied by a Certificado from the artist's studio, dated January 24, 2024, and signed by both the artist and René M. Palenzuela.
