Vintage 1957 black and white Hollywood publicity photograph featuring legendary screen icons Marilyn Monroe and Sir Laurence Olivier in a memorable scene from the romantic comedy The Prince and the Showgirl. The photograph captures Olivier, portraying the sophisticated Grand Duke Charles, engaging with Monroe as Elsie Marina, a charming American showgirl, in an elegantly appointed royal interior.

Monroe appears in a fitted, light-colored gown, her signature platinum blonde hair styled in soft curls, while Olivier wears a formal military-inspired uniform adorned with decorative detailing. The richly staged scene includes elaborate architectural columns, formally dressed attendants, and elegant period costumes, reflecting the grandeur and theatrical sophistication of the film's royal setting.

Directed and produced by Laurence Olivier, The Prince and the Showgirl was released in 1957 and remains a notable collaboration between two of the most celebrated performers in cinema history. Based on Terence Rattigan's stage play The Sleeping Prince, the film brought together Monroe's unmistakable Hollywood glamour and Olivier's distinguished British theatrical tradition.

The reverse bears a Dell Publishing Co., Inc. photo library archival stamp with handwritten identification of Monroe, classification as a photographic still, and an acquisition date of May 1, 1957. Additional handwritten reference numbers and remnants of archival mounting materials are present. A studio production identification code appears in the lower right corner of the image. These period archival markings contribute to the historical significance and collectible appeal of the photograph.

An appealing addition to collections of Marilyn Monroe memorabilia, Laurence Olivier photography, vintage Hollywood press photographs, classic British and American cinema, and original motion picture publicity materials.
