An early 20th century wooden plaque featuring three figures from the beloved Sunbonnet Babies motif. The design shows the bonneted children in profile, burned or etched into the wood surface in a folk art style panel. The back of the plaque is marked Copyrighted 1900 by B.L.C., referencing the Brown, Little & Company publications associated with Bertha Lee Corbett’s popular Sunbonnet Babies characters introduced around the turn of the century. An additional handwritten inscription dated 1902 appears on the reverse, adding period character and suggesting early ownership. Pieces featuring the Sunbonnet Babies imagery were widely produced in decorative arts and children’s items during the early 1900s and remain collectible examples of Americana folk imagery.
