Antique English black transferware pottery plate produced by T. G. Green, New Wharf, Burslem. The plate features an alphabet border encircling a central transfer-printed scene of a classroom or educational gathering, characteristic of 19th-century ABC or nursery ware designed for children's use. The reverse bears the printed T. G. Green / New Wharf / Burslem maker's mark.
