This extensive partial tea service features the iconic "Coaching Days" series by Royal Doulton. Each piece is meticulously decorated with various hand-colored lithographic scenes depicting 19th-century English stagecoach travel, including passengers boarding carriages, equestrian figures, and rest stops at country inns. The scenes are set against a characteristic warm amber and cream shaded ground with dark green rim accents.
The collection includes a lidded dish or bowl featuring a unique "Wait & Grandfather" embossed rim, a single teacup, and a large assortment of 25 saucers or small plates showcasing diverse vignettes from the series. The underside of each piece bears the Royal Doulton lion and crown maker's mark used between 1902 and 1922, along with the series title and various pattern numbers including "D2416."
