This contemplative lithograph is a collaborative work between artist Curtis Hooper and Sarah Churchill, the daughter of Sir Winston Churchill. The monochromatic composition depicts Winston Churchill from behind, seated at an easel in his characteristic wide-brimmed hat, engaged in his well-known passion for painting. The work is part of the "A Churchill Portrait" series, designed to show the more intimate and personal facets of the statesman's life.

The piece features a distinct embossed figure in the lower-right margin depicting Churchill in his formal "homburg" hat and overcoat with a walking stick. Adjacent to this is an embossed quote from Sarah Churchill: "Happy are the painters for they shall not be lonely".
