This picturesque mid-century German regional landscape captures a sweeping panoramic view of the village of Döhlen nestled within a rolling valley. The composition is grounded by a grassy, sun-dappled foreground featuring a rustic wooden fence structure and a dirt path cutting across the lower left. In the middle ground, an expansive green pasture leads the eye toward clusters of traditional timber-framed European houses with warm terracotta roofs. Perched on the rising hillside to the right, a prominent white church with a distinctive tiered bell tower stands as the focal point of the community, framed by dense forests that transition into soft blue hills in the distance. The vast sky overhead is filled with dynamic, textured clouds rendered with short, impressionistic brushstrokes, casting a natural play of light and shadow across the valley below.

The artwork is executed with confidence, using a rich, earthy palette dominated by vibrant greens, ochres, and deep forest tones. The lower-right corner features the artist's distinctive red-brown signature, "E. HERMANNSDÖRFER", bookended by stylistic horizontal lines. The reverse of the masonite board bears the handwritten inscription "Village of Döhlen" along with the date "1982" inscribed directly onto the natural wood stretcher frame. The painting is presented unframed on its original wooden support structure.
