This vintage salt and pepper shaker set features an African American chef and maid rendered in white ceramic with painted yellow accents. Likely produced in Japan during the 1940s–1950s, these figural shakers reflect mid-century kitchenware styling and collectible Black Americana motifs. Each shaker is hand-painted with expressive facial features and small spoons in hand, making them a charming addition for collectors of Black Americana, retro kitchen décor, or figural ceramics. Both pieces include original shaker holes on top and remain freestanding for easy display.
