Charming pair of vintage Black Americana salt and pepper shakers, hand-painted and stamped “JAPAN” on the underside. These mid-20th-century ceramic figures depict traditional “Aunt Jemima” style characters wearing red dresses, white aprons, and matching headscarves. Their expressive faces and period styling reflect the collectible folk-art aesthetic associated with early Japanese export ceramics.

Both shakers feature all-over crazing, paint loss, and wear consistent with age, giving them a desirable vintage patina. A great addition for collectors of Black Americana, mid-century kitchenware, or Japanese figural ceramics.
