Charming vintage ceramic lidded beer stein with colorful raised decoration of a courting/tavern scene—a couple seated outdoors with scrolling floral borders and foliate bands. The stein features a sculpted handle, embossed lower border, and a gold-tone metal hinged lid with thumb lift.
The underside is fitted with a wind-up music box mechanism set into a wooden base, transforming the stein into a decorative musical piece as well as barware. Likely mid–late 20th century production, in the style of German and Japanese souvenir steins.
