This lot features two historic World War II military commendation letters issued to the 95th Infantry Division, celebrating their tactical achievements in the European Theater. Both documents bear the division's red and blue "95" V-insignia stamped at the bottom with a "You were there. Certified" validation from the unit's adjutant.

The first document, dated April 18, 1945, is a commendation from Headquarters, Third United States Army, signed in print by Lieutenant General George S. Patton, Jr. It honors the division's historic 14-day offensive and successful capture of the heavily fortified city of Metz, highlighting their assault crossings of the Moselle River.

The second document, dated May 8, 1945 (V-E Day), is a commendation from Headquarters, Ninth U.S. Army, signed in print by Lieutenant General William H. Simpson. Addressed to Major General Harry L. Twaddle, it praises the division's vital role in reducing the "Ruhr Pocket," noting their successful crossing of the Lippe River and capture of strategic German hubs including Hamm, Soest, and Dortmund.
